Residential rooms of the Chateau's last owners - the Podstatsky family of Liechtenstein
The rooms on the first floor of the northern part of the Chateau are called the Rooms of the Chateau's last owners - the Podstatsky family of Liechtenstein. This route has been open to the public since 1994.
The appearance of these halls and a part of their furnishings date back to the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. Nevertheless, there are also a few items from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Some of the exhibits - such as parts of the historical armoury date as early as the 16th century. The set of Delft faience is quite an extraordinary collection due to its size and quality. It was manufactured in what is now known as Holland, particularly in the second half of the 17th century and later. Similar products were also later manufactured in France and Germany. The historical collections in these halls also include a set of pewter dishware, stoneware mazers, oriental ceramics and fine European chinaware. From the paintings in the Podstatsky family's rooms, the most remarkable works are the Baroque portraits of the Slavata family and other Biedermeier family portraits by Josef Weidner. The walls of these halls are also decorated by romantic landscape paintings and paintings with animal motifs. As part of this tour, you can also visit the Chateau's library, comprising more than eight thousand titles, as well as the Count's bathrooms and dressing room displaying a collection of historical clothing and accessories. We can also find ceramic items from the end of the 19th century that were manufactured in the Telc ceramic workshop.
